Christ Lutheran Preschool is a developmental, Christian based program. The preschool program’s focus is child centered with an emphasis on learning through play and self-discovery, encouraging curiosity and assisting the child to develop a love of learning. Our 3-year old classes meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 A.M. – 12 P.M. and our 4-year old classes meet three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 A.M. – 12 P.M. We are a small program located one block from University of Mary Washington in a residential neighborhood with plenty of parking (both off and on street) and a fabulous playground.

We have two 4 year-old classes and two 3 year-old classes. Our 4 year-old classes are limited to 16 students with two instructors while our 3 year-old classes allow for 12 students and two instructors. Our lead teachers hold degrees in education and provide a loving, learning environment.

All About Me

I am (it’s a secret) years old. I live in Spotsylvania County, but I was raised just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. When I grow up, I want to work with children and/or fun people. My favorites are family, sunny days, going new places, and scary movies. My favorite color is magenta. My favorite type of book is mystery/suspense. My favorite foods are steak, baked potatoes, pasta, and French onion dip. My pet is Bailey the dog.

I graduated college from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Elementary Education, with a concentration in Early Childhood Development.

Upon graduation, I moved to Virginia to start my new career at Spotsylvania County Schools. After being an elementary teacher for many years, I chose to stay at home and raise my 3 beautiful children. When my youngest was preschool age, my family and I became members at Christ Lutheran Church. I also became the Christian Education Director for the church as well as one of the preschool teachers. Most days you will find me at CLC. When I am not there, I am at home being a busy mom to my teenage children. I wouldn’t change a thing!

All About Me

I am 39+ years old. I live in Fredericksburg, but I was raised in Michigan. When I grow up, I want to be a bestselling author. My friends are all fun, silly, generous & friendly people. My favorite color is pink. My favorite book is The Outsiders. My favorite snacks are chips & dip and hummus & crackers. My pet is Buddy the cat.

I graduated from Michigan State University in the early 80’s with a degree in education then promptly moved to Fredericksburg. After thirty-one years of teaching English at three different Spotsylvania middle schools and acquiring my masters in education from George Mason University, I retired in June 2015. It was a rewarding career, and I still very much enjoy children.  I have been an active member of Christ Lutheran Church since 1997 and work with our Christian Education program and our youth group. Having two teenage sons (Avery & Brett) and a husband who adore baseball, they have pulled me in as their biggest fan. You can find me most evenings and weekends at a ball park in the area with a big smile on my face.

My husband, Steve, and I were married at Christ Lutheran Church in 2006.  We have been members of the church since then, and I have spent the last several years on the school board, helping with vacation bible school, and teaching Sunday school.  In my spare time I like to read and go on trips with my family.
