On Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will have the opportunity to gather together for God’s work. Our hands. and celebrate who we are as the ELCA – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.

On this single day, Christ Lutheran will partner with Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity and participate in the building of the first Thrivent Home.

The first Thrivent Home is being built for the Habonimanas family. The Habonimanas fled Burundi when a bloody civil war broke out, and ended up dwelling in a Tanzanian refugee camp with no place to go and no home to return to. Eventually, they were sponsored to come to Fredericksburg and they have painstakingly found jobs, learned English, and worked to build a bright future for their children.

Please join us in participating in God’s work. Our hands. Saturday, September 12th. No experience is required. A sign up sheet is located in the CLC’s Ministry Information Center.
