Pastor Anne

Pastor Anne Jones was born and raised in Conover, North Carolina, by her parents Jonathan and Deborah. She has an older brother, Adam, who is married and lives in the Asheville area. Pastor Anne was baptized and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover, North Carolina, where she also went to primary school.

After high school, she attended Lenoir-Rhyne College, an affiliate school of the ELCA, where she majored in Religion and Family Ministry, minoring in Spanish. While at Lenoir-Rhyne, Pastor Anne served as a chaplain intern at the Lutheran Home of Hickory in the Alzheimer’s care center for two years and worked part-time at the Public Health Department. In 2008, she graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne, summa cum laude and received the Dorus P. Rudisill Award for excellence in Religious Studies.

Discerning a call to ministry and desiring to stretch her understanding of the church, Pastor Anne enrolled in Wake Forest University School of Divinity where she earned a Master of Divinity degree in May 2011. During her time at Wake Forest, Pastor Anne completed a year-long unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. After receiving her Master of Divinity degree, she attended Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary graduating in May 2012 with a Master of Sacred Theology with a concentration in Lutheran theology.

In August 2012, Pastor Anne arrived in Fredericksburg to serve as Intern at Christ Lutheran Church, and in August 2013 she was approved by the North Carolina Synod for ordination in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. On November 9, 2013, Pastor Anne was ordained and installed as pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in Fredericksburg, where she serves with the Reverend Richard Carbaugh, Senior Pastor.
